Club Update - April 2023

Kia Ora,

With the first quarter of 2023 already flown by, we are overdue for an update from us here at Auckland Feathers for the year ahead. This includes membership, registering to play, new logo and club shirt, and tournaments.

Our Club Year main play will be from 1st May to 31st of November, Summer Club will run from December to March. With this, your yearly membership is now due and will be $80. Your membership includes things such as cheaper play rates, priority for more games, cheaper booking and shop rates through ABA, access to coaching and tournaments and our new T-shirt, more info on that later.

To become a member, please fill out the form HERE and deposit into the bank account (please put Membership into the reference). Once both are done, you will be added to the system.

We are excited to see so many people coming along to play on Wednesday nights recently but as the numbers have been so high we might have to start limited numbers so all players can get a fair amount of playtime. This will be done through the attendance list on the event on Facebook so please hit going as early as possible so you can guarantee your spot. 

Just a reminder to please pay on time, we rely on your honesty on the day and we don't want to have to chase you up if you have not paid when we check in our monthly accounting.

To celebrate the 20th (unofficial) anniversary of Auckland Feathers, we are finalizing a new logo and a Yonex Auckland Feathers apparel to go with it for our members. These have been specifically designed for us and will have our logo and your name on them. These will cost $60 (includes $10 donation to the club) for either Shorts, Single and T-Shirt.  Pre-orders will be made and have to paid through the website to receive yours.  BUY YOUR FEATHERS APPAREL HERE

We have two tournaments planned at the moment for this year, firstly our Mid-Winter Internal Tournament. This is going to be an enforced Auckland Feathers Members only doubles tournament so make sure to become a member to join in on this!

 The annual Trans-Tasman Tournament for 2023 will be held in Perth for the first time hosted by our friends at the Western Swifts! It is going to be on Saturday 4th November to coincide with Perth Pride Month so guaranteed a good time. Registration has opened so start finding your potential partner now or approach Steven if you are interested. More details at CLUB EVENTS

We have many social events planned for the upcoming year so please keep an eye out on Facebook, the whiteboard at play days and Club Events page to keep up to date.

Lastly, as we go into another busy year and we would love to do as much for you all as we can but we require your help! Please consider volunteering in the Feathers and giving back to your community in any way you can, we would appreciate any time at all. From helping organise events, running club day or just being there as a voice in meetings.
